WHO ARE WE?
The Spectacle of Defiance and Hope is a broadly based alliance of Community Organisations from Dublin and beyond. In 2010 a large number of groups came together to protest and challenge the programme of cuts that were imposed on the youth and community sector and draw attention to the savage economic injustices that were taking place in Ireland. The Spectacle is for an Ireland of true equality in the conditions of people's lives. In December of 2010 we organised the powerful and provocative Spectacle of Defiance and Hope event in which community organisations from all over Dublin participated.

This year in 2011 a key feature of the Spectacle is the making and presentation of Books of Grievances and Hope. We will be holding a Spectacle of Defiance and Hope event in Dublin City Centre on December 3rd ( see Events Page for details ). As part of the build up to this year's event we are asking groups and individuals to articulate their grievances and hopes at this time. So we are asking you to either make a real book and bring it along on the day or send us your grievances and hopes online, in any format that suits you ( see Get Involved for details ).
